Firsts of Many Firsts {Our Sweet Home South}

Our Sweet Home South is slowly but surely becoming our home instead of a disaster zone of boxes and baskets and bags full of EVERYTHING we own!! So apologies to all of y'all Sweets for not posting daily nonetheless more than once a week!!

I have happy news to share with y'all today!! We have had a coule of Firsts with Our Sweet Home South!! Last Monday, we received our FIRST piece of mail!! If you did not know, I have a slight obsession with sending mail and receiving mail. Even The Hubbs knows the only time he can get our mail is when I am out of town. So my mail mania can definitely be defined as an obsession...haha!!

Our sweet friends, The Van Ness Family, sent us a thank you for their new bundle of joy's welcoming gift. We got Charlie, Ashley and Sweet Baby Wren Family stationery from Your's Truly, My Paperly!!

Another First is for the past two nights, we have slept at Our Sweet Home South. May notnhave been the best sleeps as we get use to the lights, sounds and smell of fresh paint, but at least we are ablemto stay at Our Very Own Home. Thursday night, we slept just on the mattress and box springs in our master bedroom. Then last night, we actually slept in an actual-completely-assembled bed in our Guest Bedroom. We are still figuring out the main needs for the Master Bedroom bed.

With Our Sweet Home South, I am wanting to document all of Our Firsts. Check back for Our First Dinner hopefully posting soon to Sweet Home South!!

Before & After {Our Sweet Home South}

Hey Sweets!! I hope y'all enjoy these dramatic Before & After pictures. I am still waiting to get the Before Before pictures, meaning the pictures that our contractor took upon purchasing the property before flipping it. Now, those pictures Sweets are a doozy!!

SOLD!! {Our Sweet Home South}

The paperwork has been signed, the keys are in our hands and Our Sweet Home South is officially ours!! The Hubbs and I are extremely excited to own our first home together and start our life in The South.

The Hubbs and I celebrated with dinner at our fav Mexican restaurant, Casa Mañana!! On our first night in Our Sweet Home South, we plan to toast with a lovely bottle of champagne from our sweet friends, Kathryn & Doug!!

life's simple things

As Our Sweet Home South finishes up {pictures coming soon!! a lot of progress has been made!!}, our excitement to be homeowners in our first home as Mr. & Mrs. is at its peak!! Not only is it our first home together, but The Hubbs and I seem to always mention on our little car rides to see Our Sweet Home South, "Are you ready to start Our Forever?!" this question always leads to a big old "YES!!" and a grin from ear to ear.

On our trip last night, the workers had done some major yard crashing, aka cut down, dug up and everything in between, to our new yard!! It's like Our Sweet Home South took a breath of fresh air and blew all of the trees away. We really haven't paid much attention to the outside of the house because #1 ~ Finishing the inside is a M-U-S-T...#2 ~ The front and back yards are tangled up messes of trees and weeds.

However, on our survey of the backyard, for the first time I took a step back and noticed the one bush that still stood. Upon the top of the bush was a freshly bloomed Gardenia. Oh My Goodness. Just seeing that simple little flower, whose fragrance fills the air with sweet notes of gardenia lovelies, made my heart flutter. But it took me slowing down and seeing the simple things in life to allow me to notice and appreciate such beauty.

Just so y'all know Sweets, Gardenias are in my top three of favorite flowering bushes!!

During the hustle and bustle of everyday life, remember to slow your roll and see life's simple things. Their simplicity and sweetness are sure to bring you pure joy throughout your day to day life.
